We absolutely love the folks at Bon Appétit Magazine and are always excited to see the Bon Appétit 50 Best New Restaurants.
It’s always fascinating to see who made a list and who was left out, which leads to many debates. And when it comes to food, what can be more fun than debating who is the best? In the end, nominated restaurants are honored by the distinction and the expected influx of customers that come with it. We say go try them all, and make your own list!
At CurEat we love anything that helps you cut through the clutter, leading you to independent restaurant experiences. This year, the Bon Appétit 50 Best New Restaurants list has some true standouts and we of course are partial to our hometown favorites: Heirloom Brewshop, Benchwarmer Bagels, M Tempura, and Sister Liu’s Kitchen. You’ll find them on plenty of CurEat lists, like Raleigh What’s Up founder, Chana Lynn.
We were at Longoven the same night as Bon Appétit’s deputy editor, Julia Kramer, and enjoyed the experience as much as she did. Having CurEater, chef Steven Satterfield, at the bar was a special treat. He was getting ready to be part of Richmond’s food festival, Fire Flour Fork, and he carved out some time.
